I hope you are doing well today! Since I realized halfway through April that I never did a March Favorites post, I’ve decided to combine the two months for today’s favorites extravaganza. To be honest, I’ve really been loving the same products for a few months now, so it works out perfectly. Here is what I am currently obsessed with.   The Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Eye & Cheek PaletteTarte Make Believe in Yourself Eye & Cheek Palette, which I swatched here is the most amazing little unicorn palette. I normally dislike jewel tones, but these are richly pigmented and incredibly easy to work with. Two items from MAC that I’ve been loving are the new Next to Nothing Face Colour and the  In Extreme Dimension Mascara from the Work it Out Collection. The Next to Nothing Face Colour is a super sheer base that applies easily with both brush and sponge. I love that it is light but still somehow offers enough coverage to be used without any other foundation. I am also a huge fan of colored mascaras so the In Extreme Dimension mascaras from the Work it Out collection […]

I am also a huge fan of colored mascaras so the In Extreme Dimension mascaras from the Work it Out collection are my jam. Be sure to check out Well-Toned and Gym Dandy.

Going back to unicorn amazingness, can we talk about the Laura Geller Diamond Dust Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator? It’s basically heaven. It is officially my favorite iridescent highlighter and that’s saying a lot because I own approximately eight. Get yours at the Laura Geller website (where they also offer free shipping for orders over $50!) Get yours at the Laura Geller website (where they also offer free shipping for orders over $50!)

Lastly, I’ve been carrying around the new Dior Addict Lacquer StickDior Addict Lacquer Stick. This formula is creamy, but lasts longer than other shiny, creamy, comfortable lipsticks. My favorite everyday shade is “Underground,” a mauve-y nude. However, I also enjoy Sassy, Turn Me Dior, and Gamer for some brighter options.

As always, I want to hear about your monthly favorites. Tell me in the comments or link to them!

Today is not that day. But I will be talking about a glorious piece of art: the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Lace Illuminator. Currently there is only one shade available, Ballerina, which is a shade you’ll also find in Laura Geller’s swirl illuminator collection. It can be described as a rose gold, and has a fair amount of shimmer. The Laura Geller Baked Gelato Lace Illuminator is currently available online at Ulta. Its 3D design is meant to mimic the look of Italian lace and supposedly last until the very end! I thought I’d swatch it for you next to some other popular highlighters. My initial belief was that Ballerina would be a close dupe for MAC Soft & Gentle or BECCA Champagne Pop. Boy, was I wrong! As you can see, the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Lace Illuminator in Ballerina is quite dark on me (MAC NC20). However, if you don’t place it too high up on your cheekbones it can still look like a natural summertime glow! What do you think- do you need this?

Covering Up a Pimple https://thisteacherwearsmakeup.com/2016/01/covering-up-a-pimple/ https://thisteacherwearsmakeup.com/2016/01/covering-up-a-pimple/#respond Tue, 19 Jan 2016 11:30:07 +0000 http://thisteacherwearsmakeup.com/?p=129 Hello, class! In dealing with the aftermath of Holiday eating, I’m sure I cannot be the only one with one or two blemishes to cover! I wanted to share with you my method for covering up a pimple (or two or three…) First, here are my recommended products. As always, substitute in your favorites where you see fit!   Brushes: It Cosmetics Blurring Concealer Brush #103 and It Cosmetics Powder Wand #108. Makeup: Becca Backlight Priming Filter, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Chantilly), Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation (2 Fair) and Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten Foundation (Porcelain). I bet you woke up today thinking you really wanted to see a close up of someone else’s pimple, right? Sure you did. I start by priming with the Becca Backlight Priming Filter for it’s blurring effect. Then, I apply a thin layer of the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation. I chose this foundation because it is medium coverage without looking heavy, a plus for when one is going to add a concealer. Then, I dot on the NARS concealer to the affected area(s). Hello, class!

In dealing with the aftermath of Holiday eating, I’m sure I cannot be the only one with one or two blemishes to cover! I wanted to share with you my method for covering up a pimple (or two or three…)

First, here are my recommended products. As always, substitute in your favorites where you see fit!

Then, I use that same brush to tap on the Laura Geller powder over the concealed areas.

Finally, I use the It Cosmetics #108 brush to lightly apply that same powder over my entire face, to better blend the concealed patches with the rest of the skin. Don’t forget to set with your favorite setting spray to avoid cakiness! And a reminder – you can cover the redness of a pimple, but not the bump! We’re not wizards here!

Wishing you the best day ever!
