obsessive compulsive cosmetics lip tar

Hello, class! Today I want to talk about a product I haven’t discussed in a while but that has been on my radar for a long time. I was first introduced to Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar years ago when I saw the product mentioned on Beautylish. Back then, the lip tar was unique for its little squeeze tube that needed to be carried around with a lip brush to apply the product. Though I loved the lip tar, like many others, I found the packaging to be tedious.
That’s why I was really excited when I saw Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics had switched over to new packaging for their Lip Tar. Like many liquid lipsticks, the Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tar now comes in a twisty tube (yes, I believe that is the technical term…) with a doe foot applicator. I jumped at the chance to get my hands on a couple of these when Ricky’s had a sale.
I chose Indrid, an “opalescent grey with pink undertone,” and Synth, a shimmery rose gold. As with the old lip tars, a tiny bit of product is all you need for fully pigmented coverage. This is not a matte liquid lipstick – it does not dry down to a transfer-proof finish – but it does have amazing lasting power even through food and beverage.
Of the two colors, Synth is certainly the more wearable. It is lovely paired with a beachy look. Indrid is more of a daring shade, though that certainly didn’t stop me from wearing it to the mall. It looks really nice with a lavender or pink eye to complement the undertones in the product.
I highly recommend checking out the Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tar if you’re in the market for a non-drying liquid lipstick. As I mentioned, I bought mine at Ricky’s, but you can also find it on OCCMakeup, Beautylish, and Nordstrom, to name a few.
Have you tried any Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar? Please tell us! Also, check out our review of the OCC Skin Tint, another great product.
