Philosophy Statement

I believe that as a teacher, I am a role model for my students. I also believe that everyone should feel comfortable expressing themselves. I like to express myself through hair and makeup, and I believe this is not representative of “low self esteem” as some may suggest, but rather, an alternative outlet for creativity.I would like for my students to know that focusing on one’s appearance is not the most important thing in life, but something that can be experimented with in moderation and in a healthy way. I would like them to see that a woman who wears lipstick holds the same authority as the man in the room.My aesthetic is work appropriate, except where otherwise noted. I believe in a natural face. I also believe a pop of color is acceptable on the eyes, lips, wherever- as long as it does not distract from one’s work goals or detract from the respect one receives. This is a slippery slope, because I also think it’s important that we do not place too much emphasis on how others perceive us. However, we cannot deny that we are frequently judged, and often by those who are conservative in their own beliefs.Let’s keep it classy. Let’s keep it fun. Let’s have a sense of humor.Disclaimer

I am your average, everyday, 20-something educator. I do not have any formal training in cosmetics… or anything really except music and teaching…
My expertise comes from the excessive and overwhelming love of all things makeup, a love I’ve had since my first foundation purchase in 5th grade (it was Covergirl, by the way).

Unless otherwise disclosed, any products I mention and support are products I have purchased myself, or have received via the purchase of another product such as a sample or monthly box.

I am grateful to be of service and bring you content free of charge. In order to do this, please note that when you click links and purchase items, in some cases I will receive a referral commission. This will always be disclosed somewhere in the post and is used mainly as a tool to help me link you to products, rather than for my own profit.

All of my opinions are based on my experience with the products and I promise to tell the truth as I believe it to be. I welcome all comments and questions. I also truly appreciate the fact that you’ve stopped by. It means a lot to me to know that people care what I have to say.
